National Youth Week

May 21 to May 29 is National Youth Week.  Below are listed some of the events that are occurring in Invercargill to celebrate Youth Week.

 

Youth Council Pecha Kucha

A Pecha Kucha event in conjunction with Innov8 Invercargill.  Youth Focused Pecha Kucha styled presentations about the future of Invercargill.  Come and hear about what is happening in the local community.

Date: Monday, May 23

Time: 5.30pm – 6.30pm

Venue: The Meeting Room, upstairs at the Invercargill Public Library

 

Youth Parliamentarian Workshop.

An open forum discussion with the local youth parliament candidates, Stephen Jones and Danielle Carson.  Suggestions are welcomed from attendees.  The ideas discussed are to be put forward in parliament house by the youth MP’s this coming July.

Time: 5.30pm – 6.30pm

Venue: The Meeting Room, upstairs at the Invercargill Public Library

 

Youthline Conservation Event.

Are you interested in helping protect our environment?  The team at Youthline are looking for young people willing to get their hands dirty to help protect one of Southland’s local conservation projects.  Details available upon RSVP: Please email jared@youthline.co.nz for more information.

Free sausage sizzles at Invercargill Skate Park.

Date: Tuesday May 24; Thursday May 26; and Saturday May 28.

Time: 3pm – 5pm weekdays and 1pm – 3pm Saturday

Venue: Invercargill Skate Park, Elles Rd.
