The Learning Support Department at Southland Boys’ High School endeavours to provide appropriate needs-based support to individuals and groups of students. Along with the classroom teachers we identify and support students who cannot access the curriculum because of a range of learning, health or physical differences.
This support includes providing teacher aide support, accessing services/agencies in the community, individualised programmes, reader/writer assistance just to name a few. Some students may have a long association with the Learning Support Department or it may only be brief depending on the needs of the student/s.
The staff in the Learning Support Department are motivated and committed to ensuring that all our students have the same opportunity to achieve to the best of their ability.
