A round up of the Year 7 and 8 basketball season.
During Term 1 and early Term 2, Southland Boys' High School entered a record 12 teams into the Southland Basketball Year 7 and 8 competition which was played at ILT Stadium Southland on Tuesday afternoons. The Year 8 teams were the Celtics, Raptors, Breakers, Hawks and the Warriors. The Year 7 teams were the Sharks, Bulls, Hornets, Grizzlies, Lakers, Pistons and the Thunder.
All teams were coached and managed by either a senior student or relative. Thank you very much to all those who helped out with any of the teams. All teams played fairly and with awesome kotahitanga towards each other, and their opposition.
Congratulations to the Year 8 Celtics for winning the Boys’ A Grade (unbeaten all season) and to the Year 8 Hawks, Warriors and Breakers who were all runners up in their respective grades.
