Regional Win - National Secondary School Culinary Challenge

Congratulations to Caleb Ridd and Ngakau McKerchar who have won the regional National Secondary School Culinary Challenge!

Two catering teams from Southland Boys' High School entered the regional National Secondary School Culinary Challenge at the end of last term. Team Blue consisted of Caleb Ridd and Ngakau McKerchar, and Team Red consisted of Kiedus Cracknell and G Lade.

The teams had to plan, prepare and present two identical entrées with cauliflower being the hero of the dish. Assisted by catering teacher Louise Hitchcock, both teams created delicious entrées - using every part of the cauliflower.

Caleb Ridd and Ngakau McKerchar have won the Otago/Southland/West Coast regional competition and will be heading to Auckland in August to compete against the other regional winners. We wish you all the best!
