Student Services 

At Southland Boys’ High School, we are committed to supporting both the learning and wellbeing of every student. Our Student Services team offers a wide range of support, ensuring boys can contact home, receive care if unwell, and have access to guidance counsellors, careers, physio, and resources they need to thrive. 

Absences

If your son is absent due to illness, please report this through the SchoolBridge app. When he returns to school, a signed note from a parent or caregiver must be provided to his academic tutor or homeroom teacher. For absences not related to illness, permission must be requested in advance by contacting the school in writing.

SICK BAY

Students who feel unwell or are injured can access first aid support through Student Services. They should report there first for assessment, and parents or caregivers will be contacted if needed.

PHYSIOTHERAPY

An on-site physiotherapist is available on Mondays and Thursdays for students requiring treatment. Appointments can be easily arranged through Student Services.

Guidance counsellor

On-site guidance counsellor are available throughout the week for students. Appointments can be easily arranged through Student Services.

career advisors

On-site careery advisors are available throughout the week for students. Appointments can be easily arranged through Student Services.

CONFISCATED ITEMS

Any confiscated devices or items are securly stored at student services. Families will be notified as soon as possible of confiscated item via email. Devices may only be collected either by the student with explicit permission from home or by a caregiver.

LOST PROPERTY

Many items thought to be “lost” or “stolen” are often misplaced around the school. Our Lost Property holds a wide range of unnamed items, including clothing, sports gear, and personal belongings. Students can check Lost Property at the gymnasium during morning break or lunchtime. Clearly named items are returned to students promptly.
